The Stochastic Livestock Budget Generator tool is an Excel spreadsheet application designed to help the producer learn about and assess the impact that production and market risk can have on his or her livestock enterprise. The Stochastic Livestock Budget Generator tool comes with sample budget data for a Hawaiian cattle enterprise already entered into the budget worksheet. However, the tool can be adapted for use with any livestock enterprise that fits into the budget template.
The Stochastic Livestock Budget Generator tool provides the producer the opportunity to make output price, output yield, and total operating costs stochastic by entering in a maximum, minimum, and most likely value for each of them. Navigation buttons on the main worksheet take the user to various output worksheets with distributions the tool is designed to produce that show the user potential outcomes from their livestock enterprise that are possible given the information they have entered.
